Pre-Reflection
What do I think/believe about:
Refugee Resettlement
Immigration in the US
Illegal Immigrants
I think that Refugees Resettlement is a very good cause, and if they didn't have it the Refugees would not come home to anything, they also wouldn't have a chance to start over. Immigration in the US is okay, if its legal in some circumstances. Last night i heard about a woman that came to the US trying to get away from being raped, she used to live in the Congo and was forced to be a terrorist, she watched he daughter be raped and killed at the age of 5, but she came as an illegal immargrant. So in that case I think that it would be okay. Seeing that she comes from a hisory of raped women. But, for reasons outside of "torture" would not be acceptable.
-I think Refugee Resettlement is a good idea because it gives them a chance to start over. -I believe that immigration in the US is great because it gives us Americans a chance to view other cultures. - I think that illegal immigrants are fine. Most of the illegal immigrants that I have heard of are here to make money to send back to their families. I believe that that is a good thing.
Refugee Resettlement – If we can help these people who are in danger in any way I think we should go for it.
Immigration in the US is a personal matter for myself since my mother came from Haiti when she was young. So my view may be a bit distorted because of that, but I think that there should be control although not to the point that no one is allowed to enter America. I believe if there are already family members present or someone to get another person from another country and willing to care for them if needed then immigration is fine.
I don't see Illegal Immigrants as bad people nor do I see them as people that she be kicked out. Them came to America to pursue a better life and that sometimes makes me feel sorry for them, because most of the time it ends up that they have to live a miserable life. Although it is very important that formal papers are written up and over all I think that the best course of action might be to have people willing to support a family or person from another country so that they can come and live in America and one day hopefully get the papers they need.
I believe that Refugee Resettlement is a great idea because it gives the refugees a new life where they are able to not worry about what has happened in there past.
I believe Immigration in the US I think should be more controlled in the way that we do not have to have people coming into the US illegally instead are immigration system should be better. In general though i do not think it is a bad thing.
I believe that Illegal Immigrants are not bad people because they are trying to find a better life for themselves and their family. Even though they do not wait in the line for immigration they still are good people because they would do anything to be able to live in the US.
